Annabessacook Veterinary Clinic
Happy New Year!!!

Welcome 2012! We continue to add new bits of info to this site, so please keep visiting to discover more. Most recently, under the "Pet Resources" tab, we have added a page called "Recalls", in which we will try to list any foods or products that have been recalled by their producers, or that have been documtented to cause problems for our pets. Our Facebook page is another place we will try to post timely information.

Speaking of food....... We have two new foods available to us for our feline friends, Purina HA for those cats that have allergies above and beyond standard irritation from fleas, and Hill's y/d for cats with hyperthyroidism. These foods are veterinary diets, not found at pet stores, that are stringently regulated with specific ingredients required in treating specific health issues. If you suspect your cat would benefit from either of these diets, or you would like to learn more about the diets, please call us.

It sure feels like winter now! After a nice long warm spell, the temperatures have dropped. Be sure to bring your animals inside and keep them protected from the elements. Frostbite can be a problem for all animals with unprotected skin. Think about those ears with little fur on them!

It's not too late to join us in a great (and free!) weight loss plan with your pet!  If you need a little guidance on feeding your pet, or some support in sticking with a good diet and excercise plan, and just plain want to have fun, consider joining Project Pet Slimdown, sponsored by Purina. Let's embark on this great journey together!

We continue to place printable handouts about important topics under the Pet Resources tab.  Keep checking back!

Your Horse Needs A Dental Exam Every Year.  All horses deserve a thorough oral health examination at least once a year to ensure good overall health. While most dental problems are easily treated when diagnosed early, neglecting one can lead to other serious health problems for your horse. Call your equine veterinarian today to schedule your horse’s next dental exam.
