Kate O'Connell: Our newest receptionist in the small animal clinic, Kate-O grew up in Wales and graduated from Oak Hill High School in 2005. A Libra, she is the middle of 5 children and of those, has only 1 brother. She is currently a junior at the University of Maine and is studying dental hygiene. She is also currently engaged to a wonderful fellow named Bobby, and lives on Annabessacook Lake with her dogs Cairo, a Leonberger mix who purrs(!) and Honey the 1 year old pit bull/lab who loves to swim, fish, and cuddle.Having worked in customer service for years, Kate loves interacting with the clients and patients. Away from the clinic, she loves to excercise, ride in the pontoon boat and on the snowmobile, snowboard, go to the beach, shop, cook, and sew.

Sue Elliot: After 10 years at Monmouth Academy Sue decided she'd working in high school long enough. With a completely unrelated B.S. in Natural Resources she came to help out in the Equine office for the summer of 2006 and never left. She brings a strong science background, superior spelling skills, and is the dog walking, orphan kitten socializing, gardening, artist, and Super Salad Service provider of ABC, and one of the two cheerful voices who answer all equine calls. Sue also does pet portraits from photographs, and a variety of subjects in ink and watercolor. In her free time she pursues any and all forms of art and outdoor activities with her husband Steve and dog Buddy, and travels to Florida, Colorado, and Wyoming to visit her three grown children.

Gina Vashon: Always available to answer questions and offer suggestions for you and your pet regarding scheduling and treatments at the clinic. Gina lives with her sister and her cat Calvin. Gina has worked here for 6 happy years.

Elizabeth Urquhart: Our “Master Coordinator” (Office Manager) of 14 years has organized staff, scheduling, client education, and the inner workings of the small animal clinic into an efficiently-run full service facility. When she isn’t running interference between didactic docs, barking dogs, and confused owners, she loves to support live dance and music, go camping and skiing, and find fabulous places to eat. Her family includes Lanayria, her busy teenaged daughter, “GJP” her 6 year old Akita, and “Ziggens” her 8 year old miniature pinscher.

Kristie Hutchinson, Equine Office Manager: Kristie is an 18yr veteran at Annabessacook Veterinary Clinic with experience in various positions in her tenure here at the clinic with her special touch in feline phlebotomy. She started as the sole Vet tech for the 3 doctor practice in 1990, and as the practice grew to seven Vets and developed into two distinct departments for Small Animal and Equine clientele, she became the Equine Office Manager. 
She grew up riding horses recreationally through high school and competed in hunt seat and western pleasure in the State University in New York college circuit. She started her family in 1997 and her daughter, Molly, has taken to horses, and other animals, like her mother as she excels with her riding lessons at a local barn and aspires to work with animals as well. Kristie has grown up with cats at her side and currently enjoys the companionship of her three Siamese cats Buck, Pixi, and Sassy, and has recently turned to Dog Agility as a family sport with their new Border Collie- Sofee. 
Kristie also opened a home-based business in 2002, “K’s Custom Embroidery” in Readfield which specializes in unique and personalized embroidered gifts. Otherwise she enjoys spending her free time with her husband, Mark, and family snowshoeing, jet-skiing, 4wheeling, camping, gardening, kayaking; and the quieter moments scrap-booking their adventures.

Kristie Hutchinson, Equine Office Manager: Kristie is an 18yr veteran at Annabessacook Veterinary Clinic with experience in various positions in her tenure here at the clinic with her special touch in feline phlebotomy. In her spare time she loves to hang out with her kids and play rock Band! She has 4 cats: 11 year old Bengal “ Cyrus Sweet LoveKitty”, 14 year old “Sniffles”, 5 year old “Magellean Gellin Like a Felon”, and 1 year old “Ozo Matley, the Monkey-face Demon Cat”.

Jason Douglass: Licensed Veterinary Technician Jason earned his LVT and degree in Animal Medical Technology at the University of Maine. He works in both our small animal and equine clinics. Away from our clinic, Jason is involved in showing and breeding Morgan horses. The horses aren’t the only animals that occupy his time, however; he also has 6 dogs, 4 cats, llamas, donkeys, miniature horses, a macaw, cockatiel, and chickens.

Sonja Flanders: Licensed Veterinary Technician; has been a licensed technician for 26 years and has done coursework in veterinary dentistry, anesthesia, nutrition, behavior, and cytology. In the clinic, you can find Sonja holding dogs, cats, ferrets, and rats (anything warm-blooded!), as well as taking x-rays and multiple laboratory tests. In her free time, she has raised five fabulous children and now is very active in canine agility trials (as seen with Moss here) and tricks with her 6 border collies (Hope, Grace, Moss, Red, Trace, and Golen). Sonja and her husband John have also made room in their home for 4 cats: Spaz, Fuzzy, Molly, and Aliwishes, and 20 fish, kept far away from all the cats!

Alicia Rose Campbell - Veterinary Assistant -Alicia enjoys working with large and small animals. Alicia offers pet sitting and grooming for our feline friends and nail trims for dogs.

She attended Gorham College and U. of Maine, then became a substitute and assistant teacher for 8 years. She was also a stay-at-home-mom, interior and exterior painter. Patty even owned and operated Genesis Gym and Fitness Center for 8 years. Outside of her diverse work background, she enjoys gardening, antiquing, reading, playing with the dogs, and spending time with her children and granddaughter. As her previous work shows, she loves animals of all sorts. Her current pets are dogs Malachy and Pretty Girl, and Michael Jordan, her cat.

Jay Prince - Veterinary Assistant-  Jay is our "Jack of all Trades".  When he is not helping the equine docs he is keeping the place up and running.  He enjoys the outdoors, mountains, fishing, hunting and big trucks.

Bethany Drouin: Veterinary Assistant- Beth keeps order in all that is done in equine surgery and care, calibrates and runs the laboratory machines, and ensures that supplies are in stock and prepared. Outside of the clinic Beth is busy with her husband and young son, horseback riding, and keeping her three dogs Ralphie, Dixie, and Angel and two horses, Ally and Ella, happy and healthy.

After moving back home in 2004, she spent 2 years working at the breeding farm (KDM) with Dr. Brown. She has now moved to the clinic full time and spends most of her time on the road with Dr. Fay and trying to keep the laptops going! In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend Ray and his son Levi going to truck pulls, reining shows, mud runs, jacking up trucks, riding their Kawasaki's and driving their Dodge trucks. She has three Quarter Horses-Pooh, her pride and joy, and Pooh's two daughters Belle and Katie May. She also has two dogs, Jessie Lynne and Bailey Jayne.
